I'm not sure how easy it is to sync records from PC-Mac iPT within a database like OmniFocus'. I suspect that PhoneView has to reboot the IPT because the synced data integrates with IPT's built-in databases (contacts, notes, etc.) FileMagnet is just an app to app/viewer sync of non built-in data, so it doesn't need a reboot. I don't think there's a PC desktop version at this point. I think, though, that FileMagnet is a one-way sync from the mac to Touch. ![]() I figure since FileMagnet can do it, then others should be able to produce comparable software for syncing that doesn't require you to jump through hoops. (I didn't try syncing the original spreadsheet file.) For example, today I converted an Excel file into PDF, synced to the IPT and was able to view it there, portrait or landscape and any size. On the IPT the app also serves as a viewer once you have the files installed. You can sync PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, iWork documents and more. When you then invoke the iPod version, you can manually sync desktop data to IPT without going through iTunes. FileMagnet on the desktop allows you to drag files or folders into its window. The iPod version is a for-sale app and the Mac "uploader" desktop version is free. The one app I've found and use that does exactly what you describe is FileMagnet. My to-do app (OmniFocus) does sync with wi-fi, but via iDisk, so it doesn't meet your expectation. "Wish programs like it and to-do apps could sync via wi-fi or usb connection directly to the ibook." It takes a bit of time, but if you don't plan to transfer notes often, then it's tolerable. Yes, once it's done syncing, the IPT does a reboot.
